How we automated logistics in Ultra Electronics
City Distribution Block of the Ultima ERP is built around the system of intellectual routing of the orders by addresses, considering the distance to the destination and the schedule of the vehicles.
The transportation logistics block is an integral part of the goods (warehouse) block: each driver and each vehicle have their own individual bar-codes identifiers. Vehicles and consignment documents are distributed automatically on the basis of preset business logic. The driver logs in the shipment warehouse terminal through a device reading bar-codes, the system determines the warehouse gate, and the warehouse operators obtain the ticket ordering them to ship the prepared load by the number of storage cluster.
The system automatically consolidates the orders from several warehouses, automatically calculating interim movements and creating integrated orders to collect the consignment documents in common "places" in terms of the nature of shipment an din order of arrival of the ordered parts. When such orders are placed via web interface, the client receives notification on the date of shipment of the complete order at once, and may choose the shipping warehouse.
The forwarding is performed by the dispatcher in the background mode: after each delivery has been accepted, the driver sends an "ok" via GSM-terminal/SMS, and the system updates graphic report on the dispatcher’s screen, warning of potential delays of certain routes, drivers or clients.
Complete automatic generation of all "primary" documents: automatic print out of the waybills, consignment letters (in FULL compliance with all the idiotic bureaucratic requirements): several thousands of pages per day. Automatic print out of facsimile signatures and stamps option is available (color laser printer is recommended) to exclude pricy involvement of people in absolutely routine process.

The system has an option of corrective records in background mode (without participation of accountants) of internal settlements of payments for transportation services among several legal entities within one holding.
In Ultra Electronics practice, during peak times, such as New Year and other natural catalysers of demand, smooth and automated logistic processes allowed the company to perform up to 2,000 deliveries per day, using only three dispatchers.

The company’s own vehicle fleet is about 200 vehicles of different tonnage: from light weight trucks to long-distance haulers.
Each vehicle has its mileage, deterioration, insurance, technical regulations, and of course combustible, and has the entire repair works recorded.
The time of loading an average tonnage vehicle is no more than 10 minutes. One vehicle performed up to 3 departures per day.
