Ultima ERP and Efficient Business Processes: Money From the Air
All the clients of the companies that use Ultima ERP and have more than one warehouse may benefit from the service of automatic sub-order.
For example, your company works with the customers in Moscow and St. Petersburg, where the goods are located in several warehouses (one for each store). There will always be items in Moscow that are not available in St. Petersburg, and vice versa. If the items are single and expensive, such situation is economically justified, as it is not expedient to keep very expensive plotters, ten thousand dollars each, if they are bought one-two per month among all the stores in the network. While it is necessary to have those items in order to keep the complete inventory.
This is where the sub-orders are used: the client may see and order from online catalogues ALL the goods, no matter in which warehouses they are located (or with the exceptions set up by business logics of the company). When the order is being placed, the system confirms the location of the goods and the shipment warehouse, and moves the items that are located on remote warehouse into separate reserve, after which it informs the customer of the date and time of shipment.
Then, within the framework of overall inter-warehouse logistics, the necessary items are ordered automatically (that’s why the sub-order is called automatic) and are requested to be delivered to the necessary warehouse; the goods arrive, the client receives an email/SMS notification and may accept the ready to be delivered order, or waits for the delivery.
Note: along the entire chain from placing the order to receiving it, no human interaction is required, besides the hands of the warehouse operators, of course. Thus, you will be able to say good bye to all the goods dispatchers, girls managing the inventory and other parasites. And buy yourself a new Bentley. It does not simulate, does not need sick leaves, does not have depressions and does not ask for a pay rise.
Nice?
We know our onions.
But Just did even better. With our help, they virtually included the suppliers’ warehouses into the logistics system of Ultima ERP. Thus, if the goods are in the supplier’s warehouse, the above mentioned scheme will be available for the customer to place the order, as if the goods are in their own warehouse.
All the business rules are kept: as soon the site informs the customer that the order has been placed, the supplier will have outgoing document generated, and we will have incoming document generated, in which all the goods will be recorded at real prices as available at the suppliers’, and will be delivered in time. The system has background tracking of the suppliers price change and correctly displays the prices, the amounts of goods and delivery terms on the site.
This is how Just, using the advantages offered by Ultima ERP, made several steady steps to their ideal of lean traders, in which the retail company is only a technological layer linking the manufacturer and the customer. We offered convenient interface of the order and logistic route for the single goods flow. The retail warehouse that represents randomly stocked goods is vanishing.
How does this look in numbers?
Super auto sub-order helped Just to increase the inventory of sales by 40% alongside with 20% increase of the turnover. The amount of goods located in the warehouses grew only 2%. The costs of additional warehouse facilities, suppliers, warehouse operators, drivers and so on — yes, you are right, — are zero. Note: minus Zero.
Of course, full-scale implementation of the described scheme requires smooth business processes both inside the company and in its relationship with the suppliers.
Operational performance is not an easy thing, but it is absolutely necessary to transform the business into a stable profit generator, precise like metronome.
So, don’t envy them, come to us, we will help you.
